Recent News – an update from the group leader.
Recently a trustee of the Education Charity for Children in Poverty in Bangladesh (Cementing Futures) gave the members of Mudeford Wood Friendship Centre an illustrated talk about the education of Children in the Slums of Dhaka.
After the talk the members of the friendship Group dug deep into their “pockets” and raised a donation of £60 for the Sister Charity in Dhaka (Nijera Shikhi). The cost of education for a child for a year, including all materials and a daily nutritional snack is £10 per month, so Mudeford Wood Friendship Centre will have paid for a child’s education for six months.
