Why we need your help and support
Christchurch has one of the highest elderly populations in the UK with 16,000 people over the age of 60. Across England and Wales, the percentage of the population over the age of 65 is 17%, in Christchurch it is almost 31%.
19% of the people in Christchurch are living with a long-term illness/disability and we have 10% of our population providing unpaid care.
Funding for Age Concern Christchurch is solely from income generated from the two shops; donations; fundraising activities and grants from other organisations aware of the need to support older people in our community.
Your donation will help us improve the quality of life for our older people in Christchurch, helping them to retain their independence, safely and with dignity and to get the most out of life. We do this by providing quality services, we will continue to improve the scope and accessibility of our services such as Information and Advice and Befriending
Working in partnership with other organisations locally and listening to the views of older people, we will be working towards developing new services and projects but can’t do this without your support.
If you would like to make either a regular donation or a ‘one off gift’, then you are able to do so now using our on-line forms below.
If you’d like to donate, for example, £3 per month then please use the “I’d like to see other options” box and don’t forget, if you are a UK taxpayer we can claim ‘gift aid’ on your donation.
Leaving a legacy
A legacy is one of the most effective ways that you can support Age Concern Christchurch and in turn the older people of the area. We promise that your money will be spent locally, making a genuine different to the people we help.
If you have already made a will, but decide you’d like to leave us a legacy it’s a quick and simple process. You won’t need to rewrite your will; a qualified solicitor can draft an amendment (called a codicil) for a minimal cost.
