THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Chairman – Barrie Kenyon                                                                                                                                                                       Barrie Kenyon                                                                                    As an ex-president of Christchurch Lions Club, Barrie is active in the   community and in particular manages the Lions monthly car boot sales.He has a company specialising in information technology security, helping organisations to guard against the many threats in today’s technology environment.  Barrie moved to Christchurch in 2001 and his interests include sailing, community, travel and meeting with friends

Vice Chairman – Fred Neale

Fred NealeWhen asked what he does in his spare time, Fred replies “I’m retired, I don’t have time for interests”.

Twice elected as an independent Councillor in Christchurch, Fred is also involved in many local initiatives including The Friends of Christchurch Railway Station which he greatly enjoys.

Bringing 25  years experience in running his own businesses both here in Christchurch and in London Fred has been involved with The Charity for 4 years. He was also a lecturer at Bournemouth and Poole College for 17 years and so brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the Organisation

Trustee – Norma Fox

Norma FoxNorma can’t remember how it was she first got involved with Age Concern Christchurch (ACC). It was probably through supporting her husband, David, who was a founder of the Organisation and our first chairman.

Running the office when ACC was based in Druitt Hall, Norma says she was on the committee “for ever” and now enjoys her role as                                                 Trustee. Norma was Mayor of Christchurch in 1985.

Trustee and Treasurer – Sue Spittle

Sue is a Borough Councilor representing St Catherine’s Hill and Sue SpittleHurn and in the past has served as Mayor of the Borough. She has strong interests in the open countryside and Heritage of the Borough. She is currently involved with housing matters including Affordable Housing, Housing Advice Service Housing Strategy and Housing Investment.She is married with a family.

 

Trustee – Simon Spendlowe  MSc  PgCert  Dip FD  Dip FSM
Simon commenced his career within the funeral profession in 1989. He is an Area Manager for a local independent funeral business. He specialises in arranging and directing funerals, pre-payment plans, and bereavement after care.He is a former president of the Bournemouth and District Association of Funeral Dierctors and serves as a School Governor for a local “all through” Academy.

Married with two children. He is a keen “Sea Kayaker “with a good appetite for classical music concerts.

Trustee and Secretary – Neil Andrews

Neil qualified as a solicitor in October 1995, after completing his training contract at Coles Miller Solicitors. He was made a partner at the firm in 1999. Neil is a commercial Litigator dealing with a variety of commercial disputes in the County Court, High Court and Employment Tribunals.

Neil is on the Board of Directors at Safewise in Bournemouth, formerly a trustee of Poole CAB and is former Chair of Friends of Forest Holme, a local hospice charity.

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

General Manager – Alistair Rumsey   FRSPH MBIFM MIH MBICSc

Responsible for the day to day running of the Organisation, Alistair joined Age Concern Christchurch in June 2014. Reporting directly to the Board, he works closely with the Trustees on strategic issues.

 

 

 

 

Administration and Befriending Manager – Lorraine Purdue

Lorraine

Lorraine is responsible for both the office volunteers and the Befriending Team. She is responsible for recruitment and training and supports both teams in providing a quality service to our clients.

 

 

 

Retail Manager – TBA

 

Transport Manager – Debbie Phillips

Age Concern Christchurch operates four minibus’s which are used to transport members to Friendship Groups, take people on shopping trips as well as other outings and events organised by the charity. Debbie is responsible for the smooth running of this key operational service.
