Mission Statement

Age Concern Christchurch (ACC) aims to improve the quality of life for thousands of older people across the borough, helping them to retain their independence safely and with dignity to get the most out of life.

ACC is a local charity for local older people. We aim to be responsive and innovative, flexible and community driven.

Our key values – delivering the mission

This is what we do:

Help older people maintain control of their lives through the provision of quality information and practical assistance and advice

Listen to older people and engage with their concerns to find local solutions

Deliver new, targeted, sustainable services based on the aspirations and needs of older people in Christchurch

Work in partnership with other third sector organisations and statutory bodies to deliver a co-ordinated approach to services

Treat every person with respect and courtesy, recognising everyone as a valued individual

Value our staff and volunteers by treating them fairly, striving to empower them and help them achieve their full potential

Actively involve volunteers across our services and acknowledge their significant contribution

Pursue excellence in all that we do through the continuous development of inclusive and accessible services whilst maintaining budgetary control

Increase our income through active fundraising activities and the effective management of our two charity shops

Re-invest our income to make life better for the older people of the Borough of Christchurch

Monitor and evaluate our work to ensure the best possible service

Commit to the effective promotion and on-going development of ACC
